Our stay went well. We had a few problems with lights in master bathroom and door to balcony but a very nice repair man came by and was able to fix most of our complaints. The location is great. This is the second time we have stayed in B-32, the fourth time staying in Building B and we love it! The gate to the pool has apparently been replaced in the past year. I have to go down to the pool in a wheelchair, with my husband or son pushing me. The new gate is more difficult to open and to stay open (it has a very strong spring reaction) than the old gate. The opener is at the top, over 5 ft high, I believe and I cannot reach it from my wheelchair. So I have to put my wheel breaks on and hold the wheels because it's on a backward incline, while my pusher steps around me and opens the gate. Then I have to find some way to keep the gate from closing before he gets around to the back of my wheelchair and pushed me through. Could not be more difficult to get through.
Having stayed at Shipyard Village before, we wanted to come back with our daughter, son-in-law and their kids (2 of our grand kids). We knew that the proximity of the ocean, the well kept poll area, and the overall cleanliness of Litchfield would continue to appeal to all. It did. We had not stayed in B-32 in our previous visit. B-32 served us very well. It was comfortable. There was plenty of room for the 4 adults and the little ones (ages 8 and 2). The kitchen was well stocked with all the cooking utensils one could hope for. We actually cooked a couple of nights. I had noted a comment in another review that an updating was needed. The carpet appeared to be new. If it wasn't it was very clean. I suppose some folks need granite counter-tops or the latest furniture - we don't. We just want clean and in good repair. That is what we got. Truth be known, the furniture looked newer than most of what is in our home. I would readily stay in B-32 again. OK - one negative. And this is not the fault of B-32. The unit has one parking spot. We came in 2 cars. No problem - we will just get one of the guest spaces. No, we won't. Not once during the week did any of these limited spaces present itself. So, it was off to another building down the road a piece for the 2nd car. It wasn't a big deal, but beware - parking can be a problem.
Litchfield by the Sea is a beautiful family resort with lots to do if you need it. Great beach and pool facilities.
