Pawleys Island/Litchfield Beach Family-Friendly Activities
Pawleys Island and Litchfield Beach offer an abundance of activities that are perfect for families. While you may choose to spend most of your week on the beach, digging your toes in the sand and building sandcastles, there is plenty to do if you’re looking for more fun!
One of the most popular attractions in Pawleys Island is the Lowcountry Zoo at Brookgreen Gardens. Make your way through the zoo and admire native wildlife like alligators, grey foxes, river otters, owls, and much more!
If you are looking for a more active outing, hop on a bike and ride the Waccamaw Neck Bikeway trail that takes you to Huntington Beach State Park. Huntington Beach State Park offers many activities from bird watching, biking, fishing, and hiking trails. Admission fee to the park is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 6 to 15.
For a more chill day, head to Murrells Inlet’s MarshWalk or Georgetown’s Harborwalk and visit the local shops and small businesses for a day of shopping and good eats.

With the warmer weather kicking into gear during the spring, you’ll have a chance to attend many fun events in the area. The 9th Annual Taste of the MarshWalk takes place from March 4-5 where you can sample amazing dishes from eight local chefs. You can shop from local artisans and crafters while listening to live music!
To see a stunning display of flying kites, head to the 2nd Annual Huntington Beach State Park Kite Festival on March 18th and 19th. And if spring break happens to fall over Easter weekend, enjoy an exciting morning of fun at the Kaminski House Museum for their annual Easter egg hunt.
