For those of you planning on spending the Fourth of July holiday in one of our
Litchfield vacation rentals, you’ll be in a great location to take advantage of everything holiday related in the area. We compiled a list of where vacationers say are the best places to celebrate the holiday by watching the magnificent fireworks displays. Check them out as well as the local parades and other events taking place around the nearby area this year.
Annual July 4th Murrells Inlet Boat Parade takes place on Saturday, July 2. The boat parade begins at Garden City Point at 5 p.m. and winds through the inlet, past the MarshWalk and south to Morse Park Landing.
Murrells Inlet Fireworks Display can be best watched anywhere along the Marshwalk or Veterans Pier. Starting at 10 p.m., the sky will fill with colors of red, white, blue and beyond for an incredible, awe-inspiring 20 minute fireworks show. The parking area behind Belin Methodist Church (the old church on the ocean side) is also a popular and very good spot to watch the fireworks.
The
Fourth of July Parade on Pawleys Island, is a fun community event. Visitors and locals alike parade down the Island in anything that becomes a makeshift float – be it a boat, car, or flatbed truck! The Pawleys Island Parade is a fun, family tradition on the 4th that’s held from 11 a.m. until noon. To enter a float in the parade, please stop by the Town Hall, 321 Myrtle Avenue, Pawleys Island to fill out an application. The cost to enter is $15 in advance, the day of the parade it is $20. Applications will be available Mondays – Fridays, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. until the day of the parade.
